Welcome to JumperPonies.com!

Over the last few years, we have been training and developing our two ponies, Heads Up Penny (Penny) and Maxwell Smart (Max), with the goal of successfully showing them in the USEF Pony Jumper Division.  The purpose of this website is to discuss how we train our horses and the problems and issues we face while doing so.

This website contains two parallel blogs. One written by Max and Penny’s rider, Anna Easton and one written by her trainer, who also happens to be her father, George Easton. We will write our blog posts independently of each other (although we will read each other’s posts after they are written). We are both interested in seeing how our views differ!

While we have a fair bit of experience and some success, we are constantly learning and invite constructive discussion of our ideas and methods. We do a lot of experimenting to try to figure out what will work with these ponies. As with most other things in life, sometimes our experiments work out and sometimes they don’t. And, of course, horses have a personality of their own, so what works for one may not work for the other.

Hopefully, as we discuss our training and showing journey and the issues and problems we face, we will learn a lot, have some great discussions and receive excellent input, make some friends, and perhaps help some others succeed.
